When someone leaves an inappropriate comment on Vine, do you report Vine comments?
While social media is the #1 activity on the web and we are sharing more of our lives with others, it is important to monitor the comments that you receive and to remove them.
Why report Vine comments?
There is always going to be someone who comes along and wants to bring you down. Remember, it is your content and if someone posts something that is inappropriate, offensive, or mean, you have the ability to remove it – or better yet, report it.
Instead of just removing offensive comments by deleting them, it is much better to report Vine comments. Here are a few reasons why you would want to do this instead.
- Cleans up your Vine comments – remember, your Vines are public
- Users may not want to share your Vines if there are offensive comments
- If your comments are overrun with inappropriate comments, users may not want to follow
How to report Vine comments
To report Vine comments, follow these steps:
- Launch the Vine app
- Click the comments icon
- Swipe across a user and select the exclamation mark
- Tap the exclamation mark to report Vine comments
Wrap on how to report Vine comments
It is very easy to report Vine comments, but unfortunately, a lot of users don’t seem to do it enough. This is probably because it doesn’t seem like it’s worth it to spend time reporting comments.
Remember, you’re not just notifying Vine about your comments. If enough people report Vine comments from a specific user, this can help to clean-up a number of Vine accounts in the process.
Also, don’t forget about the fact that if you don’t report Vine comments on your own account, you could be missing out on new followers and revines, which could limit your growth potential on Vine.
Question: How do you handle comments on Vine? Do you report them, delete them, or leave them? Let me know in the comments below.
