7 Types of Twitter accounts to follow (and not follow)

Do you know which types of Twitter accounts to follow? With over 550 million accounts on Twitter, it can be difficult to know which types of Twitter accounts can help and hurt your Twitter influence.

Knowing who to follow

For those of you who think it doesn’t matter who you follow on Twitter, it does.

For starters, there is the Twitter ratio that limits how many people you can follow at one time.

The way this works is if you follow too many people and they don’t follow you back, Twitter can block you from following more people until you gain new followers.

This is one reason why it is important to follow users who will follow you back and retweet your content.

If you follow a bunch of people who won’t ever interact with you, they’re essentially just taking up space in your Twitter stream.

For example, while you may follow certain celebrities on Twitter, don’t expect them to follow you back. At the same time, don’t expect them to ever retweet your content or mention you on Twitter.

As I mentioned, you also want to be sure to follow Twitter accounts that will follow you back. These are important because when they follow you, they are going to then see your tweets in their Twitter stream and hopefully retweet you, pushing your tweets out to their followers.

The more you tweet good content and they retweet it, the better chance you have of growing your influence on Twitter as a result.

So what types of Twitter accounts are out there and which one’s should you be following?

Here’s a breakdown on 7 types of Twitter accounts to follow (and not follow).

  1. The Social Star
  2. The Butterfly
  3. The Distant Star
  4. The Private Eye
  5. The Cycler
  6. The Listener
  7. The Egghead

Let’s learn more about each of these types of Twitter accounts to follow (and not follow).

How to add Facebook stickers to Facebook Messenger

If you’re not impressed with collection of Facebook stickers you have in Facebook Messenger, you can add Facebook stickers.

What are Facebook stickers?

Facebook stickers are a way to send images from your favorite holidays or television shows to friends through Facebook Messenger.

They are a great way to add personality to your conversations on Facebook.

Besides sending stickers to friends, stickers can also be sent to business associates you are following on Facebook, but I would be careful doing this. Sometimes it can send the wrong message.

To add Facebook stickers, follow these instructions.

How to boost a Facebook post (and get better results) without the Facebook boost post button

Are you missing the boost post button on your Facebook Page posts? This is the button that appears to the right of the number of people who saw your Facebook post.

Example of a Facebook Page post with the boost post button.

While this is a quick and easy way to advertise a specific Facebook Page post to more people, most users think that they absolutely need it. Guess what, you really don’t.

It also works in your favor that you don;t have the boost post button on your page posts.

So why I am so against using the boost post button on your Facebook Page posts?

Why you don’t need the Facebook boost post button

The boost post button is a cheap thrill to get your posts seen by more people.

While in theory this sounds great and if you use it, more people will see your posts, what boost post doesn’t do is get it in front of the right people.

Here’s a great example from Dennis Yu using the boost post button.

Example of the Facebook boost post button

As you can see in this example, a lot of the comments that were received don’t relate to the product. So yes, the boost post button did its job – it took your money and showed it to more people.

What it didn’t do was show it to the right people.

So how do you fix the boost post button? My recommendation is to use Facebook Ads to boost your post instead of the Facebook boost post button.

This way you can get target who see’s your posts and where they see it.

For example, the normal boost post button let’s you target basic demographic information.

When you don’t use the boost post button, you actually get better targeting, which you’ll see below.

10 business tools to be thankful for in 2013

2013 has been an extremely successful year filled with lots of ups and downs and I am very thankful for everything that has happened.

Not only has it taught me a lot about my own strengths and weaknesses (and how to use them to grow my business), but I’ve also had an unexpected life-threatening health issue with family members that has challenged me in ways that I couldn’t have expected and has taught me how important life truly is and how we should cherish everything in it.

Despite these obstacles, I am extremely thankful because they have challenged me and helped to propel me further than I could have ever expected.

Here are some of the highlights from this past year:

While these are just some of the milestones that I am thankful for, a lot of this wouldn’t be possible without many important business tools that I use on a daily basis.

Here are 10 of my favorite business tools to be thankful for in 2013.

10 Surprising stats about Facebook misuse

While Facebook is a powerful tool that helps us connect and communicate with people across the globe, there is also a dark side to it which can lead to a lot of Facebook misuse.

This misuse happens a lot amongst teenagers and even employees. Even some employers are misusing Facebook.

When this happens, it can give off the wrong impression.

For example, if an employer is not using Facebook correctly, their employees may take this as a sign that it is ok for them to misuse Facebook as well.

This same thing holds true with teenagers.

If they see their friends posting embarrassing photos, they might think that is ok to post them without thinking about the potential repercussions such as being made fun of or some of the more dire consequences, such as having your personal information compromised.

Know what you should and should not share on Facebook
