Verifying your website on Pinterest is a great way to add credibility to your business as well as to your Pinterest account.  Not only does having a verified website on Pinterest show that you’re serious about using the social network, but it also provides you the opportunity to generate leads and to grow your network of followers.

Why verify your website on Pinterest?

Similar to Twitter verified accounts, which help users differentiate between real accounts and fake accounts, having a verified website on Pinterest can work much the same way.  Having a verified website on Pinterest gives users the opportunity to see the full URL on your Pinterest profile. In addition, because only the website owner can verify their account,  this helps to ensure that users know they’re following the right account.  Also, by having a verified website on Pinterest, your URL also shows up in search results as well, which is great if you’re serious about generating traffic from your Pinterest account.

Websites that cannot be verified on Pinterest (for now):

  • Domains you don’t own. Ex: Amazon Seller accounts
  • Subdomains. Ex: christiank.wordpress.com
  • Facebook URL’s
  • Twitter URL’s
  • Etc…
